Qualification for Determination of Design and Materials of External Walls for Completion of a Fire Risk Assessment

The objective of the course is to ensure that no matter what skill level, fire risk assessors (and therefore the RPs) will be able to fulfil their FRA obligations under the FSO. Attendees will also be able to fill out a simple template which will determine whether the external walls can be assessed by the fire risk assessor or need to have a full PAS9980 ‘fire risk appraisal of external walls’.

The Institute formally endorses the Course as a qualification, so it also carries CPD points. At the end of the course, there will be a 40-minute examination. Those that pass will be considered capable and competent to make an initial assessment of the external walls of a building and include such commentary in their fire risk assessment.

The course will be delivered by Malcolm Thomas and Bob Docherty, both experienced in external wall appraisals.

Lunch will be provided, as well as tea and coffee throughout the day.
