My first taste of fire safety came in the 1980’s whilst working for the then National Coal Board, as most would be aware this was a very high risk environment and fire safety was paramount and for those pits still open it still is, the lessons I learned from back then have stayed with me to this day where I have been able to apply them practically.I stepped into the commercial world of fire safety in the early 1990’s, then I started my own business in 1997.Over the years my company has been heavily involved with the active side of fire safety, designing and installing just about every conceivable fire protection system on the market. In the early 2000’s I recognised the direction the legal side of fire safety was going in which encouraged me to pursue the academic side of fire safety, and to develop myself as a qualified, recognised Fire Risk Assessor.To date I have assessed a variety of risk buildings such as:Shops Factories Bed and breakfast Sheltered housing Hotels Colleges Schools Police stations Care homes Commercial offices Department stores HMO’s Multi occupied buildings Private high rise apartment blocks Construction sites Heritage sites MuseumsIf your risk is not listed but you would still like to discuss please do not hesitate to contact me as I network with other professionals who may have experience in your field.
