A dedicated fire safety professional and former fire service officer with 40 plus years experience in the fire sector. I served for 31 years in Essex County Fire & Rescue Service both as an operational firefighter and later as an inspecting/ enforcing officer in the technical fire safety team. I am skilled in and have carried out numerous fire risk assessments within a wide range of premises and buildings including offices, residential properties including HRRBs, heritage and listed buildings, industrial, manufacturing, retail and NHS properties. I also worked for 8 years as the fire safety officer within a large well known regional shopping centre and as such have significant knowledge regarding retail fire safety, engineered solutions and shopping centre requirements. I have also delivered fire safety awareness, fire marshal and fire extinguisher training. I am also trained and have significant experience in carrying out DSEAR assessments.I am third party accredited to BAFE SP205 in life safety fire risk assessment.
