My responsibilities include the overall running of the company which may include providing technical support to associates when required, quality assurance of client deliverables, and client liaison.I have membership with the Fire Industry Association (FIA), Member grade within the Institute of Fire Managers (IFSM), Associate grade within The Institution of Fire Engineers (IFE), and following a thorough audit by the Security Systems and Alarms Inspection Board (SSAIB), third party certification from the British Approvals for Fire Equipment (BAFE) and attaining membership to the BAFE SP 205 Fire Safety Register. I am also accredited and approved to complete and validate fire risk assessments and on Tier 3 – Nationally Accredited Fire Risk Assessors Register (NAFRAR). I also provide consultancy services to clients, fire risk assessments for all types of buildings in all sectors, including complex assessments, and produce fire safety policies and fire emergency plans.I have spent 14 years in the Fire and Rescue Service, then resigned to work 14 years in the Police. I understand human behaviour, building construction, legislation, and common sense.I am frustrated by too many life safety assessors who “err on the side of caution” and always recommend the highest protection or extra reports as a mandatory requirement, even if the risk does not warrant it.
