Welcome to the IFSM
The Institute of Fire Safety Managers (IFSM) is a professional body dedicated to advancing fire safety at local, national, and international levels. As a non-profit organisation, our focus is solely on the improvement of fire safety rather than financial gain. Every decision we make and every initiative we undertake is driven by our core mission:
“To raise the awareness of fire safety at a local, national and international level, promoting fire prevention, fire protection, and reducing the risk from fire as far as reasonably practicable.”
Our funding comes from membership fees, training, events, and sponsorships, all of which are reinvested into resources, education, and initiatives that support our members and the wider fire safety community. This ensures we remain independent, member-focused, and dedicated to promoting competency and best practices in fire safety.
Our members—highly respected professionals and organisations—are at the forefront of the fire safety industry. They benefit from access to the latest developments, technical standards, and global insights from fire-related organisations, ensuring they stay informed and equipped to uphold the highest standards in fire safety management.
