DESCRIPTION:The course is designed for fire risk assessors\, inspectors/fire safety officers and others with a non-building technical background. This is a one day course designed to raise awareness\, knowledge and understanding of the construction of common building structures and known or likely fire safety strategies\, with a view to improving the accuracy and relevancy of fire risk assessments in-order to better reflect the risks posed. We will analyse 7 common structural types of buildings used in the UK. \nI make parallel reference to the evolution of principal fire safety and building regulations\, standards and guidance in England and Wales. The course deals with a variety of common building use types\, the challenges with increasing scale and complexity of buildings\, changing building technology and materials\, together with passive fire safety design for compartmentation\, escape and protection of structure. The focus is on a representative sample of building structures for multiple uses in properties principally up to 18m in height. \nThe course material contains extensive use of case studies with photographs\, videos and graphics\, which will serve as a continuing source of reference. SUMMARY:Independent Fire Training LTD: The Fire Stopping Course
DESCRIPTION:This training is recommended for installers\, supervisors\, managers\, directors and responsible persons who require an understanding of fire stopping\, linear gap seals and cavity barriers\, the different products which can be purchased and typically how they should be installed in order to provide the required fire resistance. \nThis course outlines the primary Regulations and the Approved Document B in relation to fire stopping and cavity barriers.\nCandidates will gain an understanding of different penetration sealing systems\, linear gap seals and cavity barriers onsite and how these should be installed including typical specifications. This course covers maintenance\, inspections and quality control. \nCandidates have two attempts at each assessment module in order to pass and progress through the course. \nThe Fire Stopping Course holds 8 CPD hours\, which were awarded by the Institution of Fire Engineers. \nThis course is recognised by the Institution of Fire Engineers. \nThis course is accredited by the Institute of Fire Safety Managers.
