I am an accredited third party FRACS assessor and have been since 2013, (assessed as an individual and not a company) certified by Warrington Fire, I’m a Technician in the IFE, a member of the IFPO and a member of the IFSM.I had 30 years’ service with the London Fire Brigade in various roles retiring in 2009 in my 31st year as an operational Crew / Watch Manager.I joined Portsmouth City Council (PCC) as the fire Safety advisor in 2013 where I had sole responsibility for a diverse range of Fire Risk Assessments on PCC properties for both life safety purposes and business continuity including but not limited to:  Schools, Academies etc.  Care homes and all local authority sheltered housing schemes,  Listed and heritage buildings.  Offices.  Commercial.  Housing properties including blocks of flats above 6 storeys.  Home risk assessments on vulnerable adults.  Initial assessment on new builds. In addition I regularly liaised with Hampshire Fire & Rescue Service inspecting officers, building control officers, PCC Architects, Surveyors and Electrical design engineers on a number of building projects within the city, advising on fire safety compliance.I left (PCC) in 2018 to become a self-employed fire risk assessor.
